Cylinder head removal
Hey guys, I just picked up a 98 v70 with the 2.4 turbo engine. The engine has some internal problems so I want to take the head off, at this point I have removed the intake manifold and I have started pulling the exhaust My first question is, can you remove the head with out taking the exhaust manifold off?? It looks like I can possibly in bolt the turbo from the manifold and that will give me enough clearance but I was not sure. Second question, what special tools do I need? I have read about a camshaft holding tool, anyone have a link to the proper tool? Any other special tools? Thanks for any help or advice

thanks for the link. Thats a great write up! But it still does not answer my questions. I know there are different ways to keep the cams "locked". I do not want to make anything my self, is there a recommended tool that you all use?
In the link the guy removes the exhaust manifold, I am wondering if you the head will come off just by unbolting the turbo from the manifold, that 4 bolt square flange. Just curious, that would avoid possibly breaking the manifold studs. Anyone know?

I get my profile filled in, but I am located in Central VA, just north of Charlottesville.
