Timing Belt Question

Timing Belt Question
I just recently bought a Volvo V70 in the T5 trim. My timing belt was only done less than 60k miles ago, however it's been 10 years. So I will be changing the belt alone. I'm not necessarily looking for suggestions that I replace everything unless there no way around it. I just need to know if I can remove the belt without removing the crank pulley? I've seen a few DIYs and one I saw recently mentioned to remove the pulley, but I couldn't see why. Anyone done the belt service before and can give me some tips on replacing the belt itself?

Thank you. And I'm sure I should also change my oil every 3000 miles, and my brake fluid every 6 months. Monthly radiator flush. I have a little more faith in these engines. If my Volkswagen can do it, so can my Volvo. In another 45,000 miles, I will replace all of the components as recommended. I do believe it is only the belt that holds the 5-year expiration date (rubber). I do have common sense, I will be checking the other components for wear while I'm in there.

It usually isn't the belt that fails. Its the idler or tensioner.
No one said to change the oil every 3000 miles, the brake fluid every 6 months or the coolant monthly.

I returned my belt and bought a kit with the tensioner and the idler. I likely won't do the pump, but I will check it. I only bought the kit because I paid $32 for the belt at O'Reilly's and then found a Gates kit online for $88. Which I think is a pretty good deal. Looks like I'll be pulling off the pulley, thanks for the help.

Also, have a look around by pulling the timing belt cover before ordering parts - you may find a weepy seal or some fluid from the water pump under the cover which should be addressed when doing the belts/tensioner and pulley. Also do the serpentine belt(s) and check those pulleys as well - particularly if you have some noises when idling.
