2000 XC70 P1171 P0305 MAF failed
So I'm driving home today from work and my Cross Country starts to slow down from 70MPH to 45MPH on the highway. I pull off the road and the car looses about 90% power. I decide it's time to tow her to my house before it dies completely. After getting the car home I scan the codes and up comes P1171 and P0305 which points to the Mass Air Flow. Typical behavior with the way the car surges and bucks with little power. Now I'm wondering do I have to buy the Bosch MAF or can I just get some less expensive unit?

Finally got the MAF (Bosch) from CT (Sandy delayed) and put it in the car today. Turned the key and it will not start. Tried stepping on the gas pedal and the engine revs but then stalls. Tried several times and no luck. I even disconnected the new MAF wire and still was not able to get it going. Not sure what else could be wrong. I can hear the fuel pump running from inside the car. I'll pull the plugs to check them but I am a bit perplexed.

Today I swapped out the number five ignition coil with one from my S70 to see if that would resolve the P0305 trouble code. I tried to start the car but it only stalled after a few seconds. Initially it appears to be okay but then it stalls. I'm wondering if I'm not getting enough fuel pressure. I checked the service records and it appears the fuel filter was changed at 100k miles. No CEL so far.
