Just venting. Last week a teen driver ran a stop sign. We clipped the their right rear with our right front as they sped through the intersection (they had a stop sign and we didn't).

The police report clearly puts the other driver at fault - fortunately there was a witness following us who stopped. Damage to our car includes right front headlight, bumper and right fender peeled back off car. Airbags didn't blow but there was an electrical smell in the car and a service airbag msg on the dash.

Our V70 is a 2003 model with 138K miles which we have owned from new and immaculately maintained - fresh Mobil One oil every 6 months, drive line fluids every 50K miles (including Auto Trans) and all other fluids every two years. Interior (remarkably) is "as new" and other than a few parking lot dings, the exterior was in great shape

I am certain they will want to total it. What upsets me is that I will get a check for $3,500 ($5,000 if I am really lucky) but, I will NEVER be able to find a similar quality used car in such great condition for this sorta money.
