Question Fitting 16" XC70, 215/65/16 on base 2001 V70 2.4 (And replacement size)

Hello all,

The potholes here in Chicago bent 2 of my rims, I've been in search for used OEM rims on Craigslist and found the 6 spoke (16"x7") XC rims in a set with tires. Stock rim is 15" (15"x6.5") and tire is 195/65/15 (25"x7.7"), these are 215/65/16 (27"x8.5"). They are 2" larger and 0.8" wider. Driving on the bent rims are destroying my suspension, so for now I was going to stick with the tires that come on the XC rims, and then replace them soon after. My questions are:

1) Will the larger XC set fit on my V70 without any issues other than rubbing at lock and obvious speedo difference? (and rubbing at full suspension compression I'm sure)

2) I'm trying to figure the new replacement size, I've narrowed down the replacement tire sizes to: Any recommendations or comments are welcome.

205/60/16 (25.7"x8.1") (Cheapest size, on average, from the list)
205/55/16 (24.9"x8.1") [Recommended by TireRack for 16"]
215/55/16 (25.3"x8.5")

Thanks!

Doing some quick geometry, the 215/65-16s will be about 26.2 inches tall (diameter) and the 195/65-15s are about 24.3 inches tall. That says the XC tires will be about an inch closer to the fender well all around. You can do a visual to see how much clearance you have for suspension bits etc. For the replacement tires, 205/55-16s are the listed OEM size but the others will be within 1-2% on speed. Given its a 7 inch rim (OEM is 6.5), the best size match is probably the 215/55-16s

Thanks! I'll check out that size. I did slap on the wheels and much to my surprise I have no issue except for full lock into a steep incline/decline. I know the XC model has a 2.5" lift, but the V70 will handle 215/65/16s with ease. Now I can wait a little longer to get my front end with done before the new tires.
