Default Transmission Issues

I have read a few other forum threads about transmission issues and couldn't find my specific issue. I just (a few months ago) bought a 2003 Volvo XC70 with 150k miles on it. So far it has been great, aside from this one issue. I noticed on my way home that when decelerating through a turn, then accelerating the engine revs then at a few thousand RPM then the transmission engages and the car jutters. It is almost as though it is a manual transmission car and you push in the clutch, rev, then drop the clutch at a few thousand rpm. I am going to perform a transmission fluid change at home and see if that helps, then maybe have the local dealership reset the fluid counter and shift points. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated and i am willing to answer any additional questions you may have.

Are you sure this is transmission? Sounds like ignition problem, you're not getting adequate spark advance... ?

How would the car revving high, then the transmission engaging suddenly be an ignition issue?

Transmission is electronically controlled and if it gets faulty signals it acts weird. sounds like you are sure this is just the transmission. Good luck.

It's definitely a transmission issue. I have now lost first, third, and fifth gear. The engine also almost died when I decelerated. I believe it is the valve body.
