I am new to the forums, so maybe the answer is already posted.
I tried to replace the upper right taillight bulb and thought the electrical connector was a bulb socket, so I turned it and it snapped and came off. I then found the real socket. Oops! I bent the pins on the taillight assembly so they are reasonably straight, but can't get the socket back on. Maybe if I remove the interior side panel I can get a better view.
How many pins are there? I can count wires on the plug, but I don't have that many pins.
How can I tell if I have all the connections once I get the socket back on? And do I need to do something to keep the socket on, like glue it?
Did I mangle it so badly I need to replace something, and if so, what? Can I get it from IPD or whoever, or is it a dealer-only thing?
Is there a wiring diagram that will help?

 

get a used one from a pick & pull, as they will have the light assembly and all connectors (both sides of the connector) attached to it. then simply splice their wiring harness ends onto your harness. or simply remove the pins from your light assembly harness and reinsert them in the used connector you got from the pick & pull. Where I live, a good used upper rear tail light, either left or right side is 30 to 35. I just bought one because my right rear brake light socket wouldn't keep a constant connection over certain bumps and i bought that light for only 25.00...
