Default XC60 - Volvo Vehicles

Hey all,

I am new to the site. My wife and I recently purchased an XC60.

I don't see a place under "Volvo Vehicles" for the XC60. Another post from back in 2008 sugguested I post here and a MOD would move the thread to it's on section. I hope this happens and I hope other XC60 owners support me

thanks,

Hi All:

We are looking to buy a 2011 XC60 T6 AWD and need advise!

We are being offered $500 under invoice for the following car. Invoice Pricing:

2011 XC 60 T6 $36,096
Ice White/Beige Leather
Multimedia Package $2,538
Climate Package $940
PCC $517
Advertising Fee $500
Freight $850
Total $41,441
Discount <$500>
$40,941 plus $385 Processing, Tax & Tags

MSRP on this is around 44K. So after the $500 discount, we are being offered $40,941 plus the $385 Dealership processing Fee plus tax/tags. This is in Virginia.

1. Is this a good deal or should we be looking some more?
2. Has anyone tried out the new Sensus Navigation? Is it any better than the old Navigation? pros/cons?

The dealer already has the car in stock, even though it is from the after 46 week batch which has the new Sensus Navigation.

Looking for advise

Thanks,
Ema

Default I think it is a good deal....

I think it is a good deal. We bought ours through the Costco Auto program which provides set pricing under invoice and a $500 Costco gift card.

2011 XC 60 3.2 $36,096 $32,395
Ice White/Beige Leather

Premium Package $2300
Multimedia Package $2,538 $2,700
Climate Package $940 $1,000
PCC $517 $550
Advertising Fee $500 $0
Freight $850
Total $41,441 $41,545
External trim kits free from dealer
Discount <$500> <$3,442 using Costco pricing, then $500 gift card = $3,942>
$40,941 plus $385 Processing, Tax & Tags

$38,103 pluss TTL

We chose the 3.2 for the fuel mileage, but you can probably get similiar pricing on the T6 through Costco too.

We loved our 2003 S60 T5... 75k miles with zero problems. Just brakes at 72k and tires at 40k and 70k.

The nav in our S60 was better than the one in the XC60 as it was unlocked during motion and the passenger could entrer destinations... the XC60 is locked.

Our 2007 Cadillac STS-V had a locked nav too, but we bought an after market plug in that unlocked it. I have checked with the vendor and they do not have a Volvo plug in yet.... maybe next year.

Good luck.

I'm considering buying an XC60 as well. I just want to through in my 2 cents, that there should be a vehicle forum for the XC60.

I agree. We are looking to buy a new XC60 (or new style XC90 if released) in 2012 and would love to hear what current owners are experiencing. We are also looking to do European Delivery. Any experience out there?

I would highly recommend the European delivery. We lived in the UK from 2000 to 2003 and purchased a S60 T5 using the Volvo Expat program and had it delivered directly to the US the month we returned. It was great. We saved all of the dealer hassles and US taxes since we had to shipped to the US as personal property, and not a untitled car.

I am not sure if the Expat program works exactly like the European delivery program, but I would definitely look into the details.

The overseas delivery program is the best. We have used it twice (2005 XC70 & 2008 XC70) and plan to buy a 2012 XC60 with delivery next spring. It is a really good deal financially and fun to have your own car as you tour Europe.

I have been trying to get info regarding the 2012 XC60 but very little info available. Does Volvo have any plans to sell a diesel model in the US?

I don't have the ability to set up a sub forum, I doubt other mods do either. Apparently the Administrator is MIA and has been for ages. Too bad, I would've set a sub forum up for you.

I have purchased two Volvos via Overseas Delivery program - it is the best deal ever. I am planning to purchase the XC60 for delivery next spring. i too am interested in the "new" navigation system. I am not fan of the Navteq system that was in both of our XC70s. Anyone have experience with the new system? We will pick up the new car outside London and drive around Scotland. The older Navteq system did not operate in UK as it was differenct technology - hopefully the new system will be operable..

Thanks - Rob

I just got a 2010 xc60 T6 awd and love it. There are some idiosyncrasies about it that baffle me but all in all it's a great vehicle (I don't know what to call it actually - is it a car?).

I guess mine's a base model from what you guys are saying above. It has most of the things I wanted in a car plus rear parking sensors and a dealer installed Garmin nav system (it was there, I didn't ask for it and which works well). I got it for $35.500 USD. I hope I did ok. It only has 20,000 miles on it and is very clean.

I have some phone pics. I'll try to get them up here in short time. In the meantime, I'm still noticing things that my Audi had as standard (I think) equipment. Great ambient lighting and a clock that adjusted automatically when the time changed. It was built into the electronics I guess. When I got in and started it the day the time changed, the time changed. I don't guess Volvo has such a thing. If so, I sure didn't know about it. The lack of ambient lighting is a downer. There's on faint light over the center instrument pod but it might as well not be there. And the fact that the headlights don't go on automatically when I hit the key fob is disappointing. The xc60 is about 10 grand cheaper than the Audi Q5 so I suspect it's these little bells and whistles that are the extra cost.
