Has anybody used a Powerchip in their S80s from Powerchip Inc?
What this basically does is your car gets updates of the software in your car’s engine control unit. The benefits are (by Powerchip Inc.)

warranty, you needn’t be concerned. Your Powerchip upgrade is totally undetectable by your service dealer (even if it was they
cannot void your warranty because of it). " but they don't say what are the cons.
I would like to know if this kind of modification to ECU can cause easier damage of the engine and other parts (especially turbo unit, seals etc.). How much the engine will last with this kind of modification?

Hi,

Have heard on some C70's that this would cause some damage to the turbo unit and seals, but only in the longer run. Also from what i've heard, if the car is quite new and has lowq mileage, this should not be a concern. So i'd say if the car's engine is in good overall condition then go for it. :)
