what is an upgrade for this size turbo(tdo4h comp side)(t1800t exh side)this is currently on my 1995 850 t5r ..it died(turbo) im looking for a factory upgrade bigger turbo.. what yyears can i swap with s70t5-v70t5 etc..thanks for any info

Your turbo (TD04HL-15G) uses a conic flange for the downpipe connection. If you want to upgrade to a larger turbo from a newer model (16T, 18T, 19T) you will have to change your downpipe. An upgrade to 18T or 19T would need new injectors also. Plus you will have to get your ECU reprogrammed for the larger turbo to ensure you have enough fuel.

You don't necc. need to reprogram your ECU for that though, you can use a piggy-back module like the Apex-i SAFC (air-fuel computer)

People who have tried the SAFC say it does nothing above 4000rpms. There are amny posts about this on Volvospeed about this. There are several members that are trying to reverse-engineer the 4.3 & 4.4 ECUs so we can have something programmable by the end user.

And I know several 10 second DSMs that would tell you otherwise...

...and DSMs use Motronic 4.3/4.4?

I cannot speak from experience, but people say it won't work on their Volvos. If it does indeed work for us then I will be very happy.

Not really, you do need a ECU upgrade. It will handle it much better.
