When you start the car and try to turn it on does the blower sometimes start and stop then the lights flash?
Most of the time the blower motor goes bad and pulls excessive Amps and then sets a code. Most likely you will need a new blower motor. It could be the blower motor resistor as well.Sometimes they both go bad at the same time.

that is exactly what happens with the ac. it tries to go and then stops and then the lights flash. is this an easy fix, or is it something i must take to the dealer?

It is not that hard to fix.You need to remove the glove box insert. There is either 6 or 8 t-25 screws.remove the screws and then remove the glove box insert. Then remove the 2 t-25 screws for the lower dash panel. Then you should be able to see the blower motor. You can try just replacing the blower motor first.
If you need any more help let me know.

Did you replace the blower motor? Was it the cause of error with the lights? Keep us posted.

since my problem is also ac related I will post it here.
99 volvo s 70
Is fully charged ac system suppose to keep the compressor running all the time or it makes pauses? I hear it kick-in and then shortly atfer it turns off. That causes rpm's to go between 700 and 1200. I know ac is suppose to drop rpm's but is it normal to idle this much? Also, is this ecu regulated so every time compressor shuts off the rpm's rise because ecu sends it signal?
When this happens check engine light shows up on the dash just for a moment and then it clears. I drove with an obd2 hooked up and it gave me po 131 (o2) but then it cleared by itself. Kind of strange, it doesnt stay on at all. Something loose?

First thing to do is clean the throttle body. The Idle will act more erratic with the A/C if it is dirty.
Also are you 100% sure the A/C is fully charged?
If the blower motor is set on low speed and the A/C is on it will cut the compressor reached a certain temp.
Or technically when the pressure drops so much due to the freon getting colder.
The lower pressure switch controls the compressor cutting the A/C off.
Does it work ok driving?
Do you hear the cooling fan under the hood turn on?

Thanks for the quick reply!

I charged it up myself, it took 2 cans (680 grams) and just a little bit of third so that should be fine because it takes 750 grams when full. Unless it is leaking somewhere.
This happens when the ac is on full blast, havent tried with the lower speed at all. Yes, the ac fan is on.
Will clean throttle body today but I am still confused how can o2 sensor come up on the ob2 and clear itself?

That is kind of wierd but if the idle drops low enough and the check engine light flashes the computer is wacking out.If the idle drops low enough it is like havock on the computers.

Goodevening, This is a weird thing. The S-90 A/C works great, but sometimes will not push the air thru the panel vents. This is an intermittent problem. Last week it was running fine. The week before, no good. It's hot here (So. Nevada) so we use it alot. The compressor kicks in and the charge is good. Thank's for the help.
