Default 1988 740 Turbo ABS problem

The ABS light will come on after 2 to 5 minutes of starting the car and driving. Before the light comes on, the ABS is applied to the brake regardless if there is a need to do so. That is whenever I use the brake ABS is applied (I can hear and feel ABS being applied to the brake). The biggest problem is when the ABS is being applied, I think it only appled to one side of the brake and hence my car is swaying to the left hand side. When the ABS light finally come on, braking becomes normal. This problem started two years ago. It was also time for brake work. I put in new rotors and new pads (front and back , lots of money). The technician told me that they normally clean the ABS sensor when doing brake job. It worked normal for about 3 to 4 weeks and the problem came back again. I took it back to the shop, they cleaned the sensor. It again worked for 3 to 4 weeks. I was then told by a technician that it is not worth spending more money on it because ABS for that years are all like that because the sensor is exposed and dirts get to it so easily. Here is their story.
The fact that ABS is applied to the brake is because the sensor tells the comupter to do so. The problem was caused by unclean signals being sent to the computer due to an unclean sensor. Finally the computer decided to disable ABS becauss of these confusing signals and turn on the ABS light. When ABS light is on, my car will behave as if there is no ABS on the brake and hence it is as safe as any non-ABS car.
If this is true, I am willing to go without ABS because it doesn't make sense to keep spending money on fixing something that was not design properly to begin with. However I feel very uncomfortable with the first 2 to 5 minute before ABS is disabled especially when my car is swaying to one side during braking. I was wondering if there is a easy way to disable ABS totally since it is not working anyway.
Any other suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
