Is it true that 18" wheels on 98 - 00 V70 will damage power steering pump?
I have a friend who is volvo mechanic (not volvo dealer) told me that I should go 17" if I want some upgrade on wheels without damaging power steering pump.
but I really like 18". I want to put 18" pegasus wheels on my V70 T5 Wagon and lower it.
Is there anybody here having trouble with 18" wheels?

You may rub a little that is all. I doubt it will harm the PS pump.

Hi, S70driver.
Thank you for quick reply.
That's what I wanted hear!! I just need someone to push my back:D.
By the way, you said it may rub a little. Do you mean inside of Front Tires? Like when I turn the steering wheel?
If so, it should be OK if I use spacer, right?
I was thinking to put 215/40/18 tires.
Do you think it should be OK?

I mean it may rub in general. When your turning yes. And a spacer wont help you really. You don't need a spacer anyways they will fit in there just fine.
The tire you want to be using is fine. I was going to use a 225/45/18 I think on my 18's before I sold them. And they were PEGS too.
It will be fine.

Wow, I can put 225/45/18? That sounds much better than 215/40/18. Thank you very much!!!
