I just got a 1996 volvo 850 turbo, i was wondering what things i should look out for, what i should fix right now before problems develop. Shes got 94 thousand miles <img border="0" src= smileys/smiley9.gif>, and seeing as how i am gonna be pushin her id like the car to be in prime condition. Also, i read somewhere about there being problems because of loose oem throttle body. What should i do to prevent this, can i just regularly tighten the screws?</P>

now that ive had my volvo and have been lookin around i got some knowledge in my young head.</P>


first things i replaced on my car were the serpentine belt, fuel filter, changed oil, plugs, disty cap&amp;rotor, etc ... and the Oring &amp; gasket for the turbo return line.</P>


I had a leak since i bought the car. It wasnt a big leak, just a tiny patch of oil every morning, which really pissed off my dad. Got under the car to see what it was and turns out the oil return line from my turbo was leaking. After searching online I found the 2 parts necissary and replaced it no problem. Now theres no more leaking on my drivewayand my turbo looks nice from underneath, notfilmed with oil. If anyone needs the part numbers or help just ask</P>

If you have no record of timing belt being changed you better get on it. Our 850's are interference engines, that means if your timing belt brakes you will bend valves, then you get to buy a belt and take the head off and replace bent valves. Mine has 62000 and i'm pushing it, will do at 70,000 as required in owners manual.
