I'm consideringa V-50 wagon. I wanted to wait until the new ones (2008) came out. Earlier this summer, I had my dealer confirm that the manual transmission would still be available. He assured me it would, but everything I'm seeing now indicates otherwise.

Can anybody give insight? Do they have options not showing-up in the brocure/website? Is there plans for a future, "sport" version that may include it?

Please help! I willNOT buy an auto. I was really impressed by the Volvo I test drove, but this would eliminate them from my consideration.

Thanks!

I just picked up a 2007 V50 myself (supposedly the last available manual in the US!) and the dealer was saying no manuals will be available in MY08.

Do they ever make an "R" version of the wagon? Something to look forward to later in the year?

Unless u are willing to pay in Canada u can still get manual version across the model line. but headache is getting register in the states, conversion of instrument cluster and other various function exclusive to US market also have to get warranty to transfer over to the states ;)or see if u can get one from the overs seas delivery program and get to drive your new V50 in sweden the home of Volvo... (Always wanna try that but dunno when can I afford)
