Default Driving the S70 hard

From an experts point of view...is driving an 2000 S70 SE hard, hurt the car at all. Driving it hard meaning brisk acceleration, not floored, but about 4-5000 rpms and taking curves hard...just wondering...thanks for any responses

I would say you should be fine with the engine part. But taking turns hard could decrease the life expectancy of your suspension components. Think about upgrading them to some heavier duty ones. Like endlinks, sway bars...

Hi,

Driving your car hard does not hurt it (unless if you drive into, well, a tree[8D]). However, accelerated wear on certain components is inevitable, generally on the engine (which should not be much of a concern, as long as you use high-quality oil & OEM filter; I would go with full-synthetic 10W-30 for the kind of driving you do), suspension & brakes. Make sure to check the engine oil level regularly (once/week) and NEVER let it low. Also, drive easy for the first 10-15 minutes until all fluids come up to normal operating temp. Finally, change engine oil at every 3,000 miles/4 months, coolant at every 3 years/30,000 miles, transmission fluid at every 30,000 miles/3 years, and the brake fluid at every 2 years.

Other than that, drive cautiously in cities, school zones & where many kids are expected to go out of control, and have fun on deserted roads.

And be safe.
