Wass up guys....
My car's been running fine (94 Volvo 850),then I didn't drive it for 2 days...& when I went to start it,it only turned over and over until it just killed the battery.
I jumped it for over a half hour,then nothing again...it spins over,but doesn't catch or even seem to come close.I even opened up the airbox and sprayed some starting fluid in,and that didn't budge it at all,not even a cough.
Don't know if it matters,but I did add a qt. of 20/50w oil the last day I drove it.The next day Idid start it and ran itfor a minute but didn't drive it that day.It seemed to be harder toturn over that day,(slower starter speed) but it was a bit colder here in Massachusetts that a.m. (around 28-32degrees.)
Also,I still have a flame trap /PCV problem -oil in dipstick area & oil cap area-(mentioned here a few weeks ago) that I still hadn't resolved.
Just figure the more info,the better,even if it doesn't pertain.
What would you think are my options....electronic module....fuel system....computer,etc. ? Seems to me after starting fluid,I should have had some life out of it,even if only for a second or two,but nada!! My guess is ignition,but I'm here to ask the pros who know the car/make much better than I do.Car was running fine up until situation above.

Check for Spark, and Check for fuel pressure.

Undo the little cap on the fuel rail and then press the valve and see fi fuel squirts out (once your key is in the ignition). If nothing comes out, your pump is dead.

 

Smack the bottom of the fuel tank while cranking the engine, this will persuade the pump to get back to work if it has stopped.

Definitely check for spark and fuel. Once you know if either of these is bad, we can troubleshoot further
