Hello everyone,

I just finished wiring my front doors to my new car alarm unit. I can now open them without touching them. It's pretty cool, check it out.

Nice. I like the idea. However in a parking lot it wouldn't be useful as you would be way too close to other cars possibly and the door would hit them for sure.

Very cool though.

Thats very true, thanks for bring that to my attention. I should probably adjust the tension.
(but my street is slanted, so the door popped out much more than it would in a lot)

Pretty cool.

Quick question. What percentage is your tint?

Thanks.

5% in the back and rear and 50 percent on the front windows.

Hey now MagicM1364,

I like the door poppers. Can you adjust the power of them?

Where did you find them and was the install very hard? Rate it from1 to 10.

Hey now johnnyboyca,

You mentioned "Forever Black". What is it, where can I find it and, from 1 - 10, how hard is it to apply?

I have a '94 Estate(sounds better than wagon)and spring is near so it's almost time for touch ups.

I suggest using GOOGLE or the Volvo Forum Resources thread I have in the General Volvo section. You can find mostly anything on the web. But here I will give you some sites. I will also give you sites for other products that do the same thing.

Personally I would paint your trim the OEM color code of your car, it looks great and will last. Or I suggest painting your trim black which would also last and look nice.

I assume that you can still use the doors normally and open them without using the remote? This may be something I'd be interested in doing in the future.

Awesome! I see you did the passenger door. Is this doable for all the doors, and the liftgate? The liftgate/ trunk would be particularly valuable for someone going to load their car with groceries or anything that was pretty big...

COOL MOD!

I would think that the liftgate might be too heavy, but a standard trunk lid would be no problem.

I have seen a few cars with them. The key is to set it up so that the trunk lidopens all the way without shooting up. The guys mentioned that the key is to start with a low preasure/settings and work your way up. The units that they used were adjustable.

Not all car doors are the same, or weigh the same,so the ability to adjust the popper, properly, is somthing that I would think comesstandard with every kit. At least I would hope that it isnt an ad on?!?!?!.
