whats up all,

i was wondering if there is a sure noticable difference between these 2 shocks. i plan on getting the HD units, but if there is no reason to pay an extra $200 for a sportier feel then i'll go with the regular ones.

thanks

Bilstein TC's are OEM equivilant.

Bilstein HD's are the high performance heavy duty model.

Bilstein Tourings are DEFINITELY stiffer with better control than OEM
Bilstein yellow Sports are STIFF! WAY too still for this old guy.
Had a set in an S70, removed them in a week,
kidney busters!

From what I've been hearing the fsd konis are a nice compramise. My V70 will be getting the Billstein tourings as she'll primarily be a highway cruiser.

i have an 1996 850 wagon..and i put the regular bilsteins on and no complaints.

if ur just putting them on with no other suspension work then i would just stick with the regs.

Litehwk356 sounds like you have the HD's. Theother ones are black.I have the HD's on my 745t with TME springs and it rides beautifully:D.

i have stock everything (struts/shocks/springs) and they have not been changed EVER:(..but the ride isnt to bad

i have a 1996 850 wagon

i am about to buy used bilstein HD struts and shocks and factory springs..i know the ride will b a noticable difference..but i dont want it to be so stiff..do i need to think twice about this purchase..i want a stiffer ride but i dont want to look like i have cut springs..

Have you ever been in a new "R" with advance mode on? I believe that is howit would feel if you put just the HD'son.I would put on some sport springs and be done with it. It is a little bit stiffer than stock, but the sport springs will be able to handle the dampening on the HD's.We also have a BMW 540i with H&R coilovers, and its not that bad. I like my cars to preform well, so I don't mind an extra bump here and there:D.
