Hi

I have a 2000 v70 XC AWD automatic. I have had a problem that the ETS lamp and "engine" lamps illuminate and the car is almost undriveable. I removed the positive terminal of the battery in the hope that I would perform a "cntrl-alt-delete" on the engine management system . To my surprise it worked and the car was OK for 50kms but the problem is back. Off with the batterry terminal and another 50kms!

Any ideas on both cause and repair

All suggestions gratefully recieved.

Chances are you have a communication problem in the ETM (electronic throttle module). Very common for that care. Will need replacement at the dealer

Good luck
