Greetings!

I have 2 questions about the 6 disk CD changer in my 93 850 GLT. First; what company made these? I have been told Alpine and Pioneer. I really dont want to pull it out to find out. Now for the second question; Where the heck do I get the cartridge for this thing. I am currently bidding for the ONE on E-bay, but I think it's going to climb to a Gabizillion $. I have phoned all the Volvo dealerships in the area and they can order one (will take a month to get) and charge $54. There has got to be a less expensive alternative. So the second question is; Is there any other cartridge that fits this changer (aftermarket/other model), or am I stuck shelling out the cash for the OEM cartridge?

Thanks

As far as I know it is Alpine that makes them.

Try checking with a radio shop that deals in Alpine radio stuff.

for that much money, i would look into buying a whole aftermarket unit...do you even know if it works?

I also have a 1993 850. I put the cartridge in the cd changer but the radio reads erroe. Also I cannot remove the cartridge. Yes, I put it in the right way. The green light does not light up on the front of the unit, but I have verified that power is getting to the junit.

Any suggestions?

Make sure all the wires have power. One should have power with the key off.
There might be problem with the wire between the changer and the radio.
