I have a 93 850 GLT w/2.4L NA (non-turbo)

Does anyone have a picture/diagram/link to their (or anothers) home built CAI? I would like to get a good imprint before designing my own. I am good with the hands but not so good with the art.

Thanks!

Sorry I haven't seen any as of yet.You might want to take some measurements off the car and just go for it.

I was thinking of that. I want to seal it off from the engine heat. I have seen the Louvered hood scoops that are placed on either side of the hood. I was thinking of an encasement around the cone and it would semi-seal to the hood directly under the louvered hood vent. can you think of any drawbacks to that? I dont want to just go with a cone, because then I'm just sucking heated engine compartment air.

Thanks

Build a box to hold the cone filter by the radiator where the air box gets its fresh air from.
I think it would work better than the louvers.

If you can find a way to route the piping to a wheel well that's your best option.

wouldn't a intake from the wheel well increase the amount of dirt/water/dust taken in A LOT?

Water shouldn't be a problem, unless you submerge the filter in water. And the further away from the engine the more cold air will be got.

I would say though that the filter might get dirtier quicker, and you might have to clean it more then once a year, maybe 2-4 times a year.
