...from Reading PA. We've been going to the same mechanic here for almost 15 years here, but will be moving to Maine when our son graduates HS in 2009. I asked our mechanic about shops up there. He didn't know anyone in particular but said New England should be crawling with Volvo mechanics.

Eastport is in northeast Maine (Washington County), about 2 hours north of Bangor. We haven't really gotten serious about moving until recently so we haven't really looked much up there. We'll be headed up the middle of July, but if I can get some objective recomendations before going it would be helpful.

I used to live in lubec and owned a volvo 240 when I was there about 9 years ago. I used to take it to a guy in Machias who had a shop on the main road before you got into town if you were heading there from lubec. I can't remember the name of the place but he did a pretty good job and new his stuff. I wouldn't say that he was a volvo expert but he was good to me. I take my car to Cowan's in Brewer now, I live in Old Town. He is very honest and a good mechanic. Hope this helps.
