Lately I find that when I bring the forum web page up on my notebook I receive the "Spanish" edition. Do I have an issue with my computer or does the forum have a problem. I speak German and Englishbut not Spanish.

JimKW 06-24-2008, 06:56 AM I have never seen anything in Spanish. How the heck does that work? If you type a message does it get translated to Spanish? JPN 06-24-2008, 10:43 AM I would seek assistance from Axelm. JPN reg 06-24-2008, 04:42 PM Jim all of our postings are in English but all of the 'ads' on the top and right side of the page are in Spanish. Quite frankly I was concerned that my notebook had been 'invaded' and taken over by a virus. My high school (2 years) of Spanish has failed me! TECH is aware of the problem and so I'm not going to worry any further. Thanks JPN. r. JimKW 06-25-2008, 06:25 PM I was just trying to be funny. It's never funny when you have to tell people your are trying to be funny. axelm 06-30-2008, 03:01 PM ORIGINAL: reg Jim all of our postings are in English but all of the 'ads' on the top and right side of the page are in Spanish. IIRC they are using Google Ads, which can use your IP address to see where you are connecting from (GeoIP) or you browser preferences to select the language. It's probably just a glitch in the forum software. reg 06-30-2008, 05:21 PM Thanks..............axelm. Yes, you do deserve a beer! r. reg 06-30-2008, 05:26 PM Axelm, at one time I used Tenebril to keep the IP to my self but it is s l o wwwww. r. axelm 06-30-2008, 06:00 PM ORIGINAL: reg Axelm, at one time I used Tenebril to keep the IP to my self but it is s l o wwwww. r. The TOR network is great for that. It bounces your packets all over the globe just like in the movies. |
