Hello, I am the proud owner of a used 98 V70XC and I like the car a lot, got it for the wife and the little girl. I am currently trying to work my way through a "Check Engine" light issue and would appreciate any insights that forum members may have. From what I can gather, this is not uncommon, so I appologise if I am beating a dead horse, but...

The code I get when I scan the ODB is "P0455: Evaporative Emissions Control System Leak Detected (Gross Leak)"
I have replaced several questionable vacum lines, the gas cap, reset the light but it comes back on. I realize that there are a host of things that can cause this code (charcoal canisters, vac lines, fuel tank, etc) but I am looking for any insight that forum watchers may have.
Thanks in advance. Trev

Try getting a new Evap valve and filter. The Evap valve is located on the cooling fan shroud.
Also make sure you follow every line and check it really good.

Tech,
Thanks, I will do just that as a bunch of people have mentioned the valve you suggested. Seems like you are very helpful to the group and have a lot of knowledge, Thanks in advance, Trev

By the way, for fun, check out what we do in the backyard at www.grasspass.org (http://www.grasspass.org)

No they sell an inline Filter for the Evap system it goes on the back side of the Valve.
