Hello everyone! My real name is Stacey and I just bought my first Volvo back in May after graduating from IUPUI. It is a Silver 1999 S80 2.9. I absolutely love it. Especially the Backseat Driver Button (BDB), otherwise known as the Backseat Headrest Release Button (BHRB). It is my favorite feature of the car, and all of my friends wish they had one. I have found so many gismos and gadgets on this car that I still have not found them all. Like Rear Fog Lights! I have never heard of Rear Fog Lights until I bought this car. LOL I am just dumbfounded with all of the features that it has. Anyway, I have some pictures of it, they are below. I was thinking about fixing all of the minor glitches that I have with it and showing it next year at the Indianapolis Truck Bash and Import Show. I went there this year and saw a stock Sliver 1997 Volvo S40. The guy took everything apart down to the frame and restored it after the car was in a bad crash. It looked brand new! So I am going for it! I still don't know if I should tint the windows or change the wheels but I am going to get Front Fog Lights because one of my inserts is missing, (shrug) so I might as well get them! Enjoy, and have an awesome day!

Looks nice I can see the color difference in the passenger side and nose of the car.
But it still looks good.

Thanks! :D Yeah I just noticed that myself, now that you mentioned it. When you see it in person it does not look that way, but now I think I should take a closer look at it tomorrow when I have daylight.

Thanks jks2!:D No worries tech!:D I looked at it today and I could tell that there is a sligh color discoloration between the doors, but meh, unless you look really hard at it in person, no one could tell.

Just out of curiosity... There is a door dent on the driver's side... I have a dent puller kit that I bought from Auto Zone for my first car (1993 Pontiac Grand Prix), and it worked great on it, but I'm not sure if it will work on that size / angle of dent. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it out? Thanks!:D

There is usually guys that specialize in dent removal. They do good jobs and usually around $70.00 or so.
I would check that option first.

I have worked in the Body industry since '89 and I'm a third gen bodyman

I can tell you from experience that the Rear door and Qaurter have been repainted

silver is by far the hardest color to match

open the trunk and inspect for "factory looking" seam sealer

you can compare the right to left sides

My dad drives it around now so it is still in the family but I don't drive it unless the S80 is in the shop. I have to replace my ABS control mod anyway. Could you could PM me the link to that forum? I also have to replace my suspention as well... I am just going to get whatever brand my BF's Cousin gives me... He works at a Auto Parts shop that can get me OEM Volvo parts for cheep. LOL so we are twins LOL The ones I have here were from Photo Bucket and I used the image tag link and it worked fine for me. LOL

I know I did the same thing too when I got mine. Still don't know what some of the radio controls do but when I have time I am going to figure them out. Like I said above... I think my favorite button is the Back Seat Driver Button AKA the button that colapses the head rests in the back so short people like me can see LOL. Anyway, I hit the BSDB while my BF in the backseat because he was cratiquing me on my driving LOL It was funny... Everyone had a good laugh because I did not tell them about the button until I hit him in the head. LOL Don't worry I made up for it. LOL It was fun. As to the stage zero list... I have no idea what that is. So what is that?

I kinda like them but I think I am going to get some new ones whenever I get everything working and I have the money.

I was thinking about getting these but I am not sure if they will fit on my car.

This is the Fortuna 8" x 18" Diamond Cut Wheels that come on the 2008 / 2009 S80. If memory serves me right these are $750 a piece, but I really think that they would look good on the car. See...

Try the hidden EQ function in the radio. I couldn't believe how much bass the stock system had once adjusted.

You gotta shut the radio off, hold down the source select button (i think that's what it's called) then turn the radio back on (still holding other button down). Instead of the CD track or radio station, the EQ should pop up on display.

Dude!!! Now that I know that! I am so putting my degree into good use. :P I guess a video and sound degree pays off when you have an EQ function in the car. LOL Now I can get an even better sound experience and make it actually sound like surround sound. LOL[sm=badbadbad.gif]

It's such a !@#$ in the !@# to install an after-market stereo that I figured it was better to make-do with what I had. First you have to have the dealer reprogram the CEM to not include the radio in its diags, then even if you get the right adapters there's the issue of the steering wheel controls. Well, you get the idea... might not have a whole lot of frequencies to adjust but the hidden EQ works well enough for me anyways.
