Hi all. I have a '92 240 and I need a dash mat. I'm trying to cover a rather large crack. Does anyone know of a good place and/or the best brand of dash mat? I'd also like to hear if anyone has an alternative or reason not to use a dash mat.
Thanks for any replies!

IPD has some nice Fabric ones: http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-200/Interior/Fabric-Dash-Covers/p-69-262-2871/
They cost ~$50.

I have a nice black dash mat that I've had for over five years and still looks great.
I don't remember where I bought it (maybe IPD?), but it has a "dash topper" label.
Here's the direct website:

I think mine is a velour, but, again, I've had it so long I've forgotten.

I have a 1980 244 and mine came in two pieces:
-One long piece that extends from the the entire width of the dash
-One small piece that fits over the raised dash above the instrument panel

Before I bought the mat, my dash had one small crack in the dash. It has not gotten any bigger, nor have any other cracks formed in the dash since.

I don't really have any pictures of the dash mat right now, but I can take some if you'd like. In the meantime, you can see a close-up of the texture in this picture I took of a button on my dash mat:

Hope that helps,
