My son starts college in a week and I need to get his car running right, just bought him an 86 Volvo 740 GLE, car is in mint condition but it just started something this week. In the parking lot even when warmed up when I give it gas it loses power and if I give it gas too hard it just dies. I'm saying Fuel Filter and for $26 from local auto parts am changing it Friday. I did pull the MAF Air intake tube off the air filter to see if it was a dirty filter and couldn't breathe in but does the same thing. Someone told me it could be the Fuel Sending Unit which I have doubts based on the symptons, yet I'm no expert on Volvo's.</P>


Any advice would be appreciated. It has no Check Engine lights, burns no oil, has good compression, oil pressure, etc etc. Also is the Fuel Filter located under this car by the tank?</P>
