Hi guys, im a proud new (old actually) of a 95 850 non turbo volvo, and i love the car but! unfortunatly im single, no kids, and that car is not for me, my mom bought it for me and I really thank her for that but i like fast cars (standar/stick) cars to cruise around. with that said here is my dilema...
im a nissan guy (owned 1 89 300zx turbo, 90 240sx, and 92 240sx) and so far my new ride doesnt share any connections with me, and because im no volvo expertee, i dont know what I need to get to make it a turbo.. is it better to get a T5 engine or make a setup myself? i dint even know it was a v5!!! thats how lost I am with this car, the engine is strong and it runs great and sounds awesome even when its got over 230k... its way more that I would expect of a nissan... and it runs as if it had 50k or new!
it came with the engine light on, but when i opened the hood I saw the problem, a big hole in the air hose, i covered up with tape and away was the light.
another option is to sell it, I dont know for how much this cars go for, I saw some gonne for $4000 and up... but I`ll probably sell it for around 3000 to let it go and get something more like me...
so guys, if you have any suggestions i`ll really apreciate them, what would you do in my case, or if you know a list of stuffs to make it a turbo will be great!

thanks...

You would be better off selling it.

You might need to get the entire engine and harness plus the computer.

The Non-turbo isn't drilled on the block to accept the turbo oil return line.

But also are you sure you want to hurt Moms feelings by selling?

thats all I needed to hear... that car is definately not for me (im starting to love it, its weird) and im sure my mom woulnd mind if I sell it or keep it, she bought it for me to go to school, and if i sell this car, i`ll go get something else and i`ll be back to square one so no gib deal...

now... who whants a beautiful cheap volvo 95 850??

If you started really liking that car, you should check out the Turbo model. You can pick them up pretty cheap too. If you find the R you will have to spend more, but it's worth it. You ought to at least test drive one before purchasing a ricer.

If you want faster sell it and buy a turboed Volvo. Do not waste your time on doing a swap.

...............but to hear the sound that a couple of 45DCOE sidedrafts make when sucking at full tat will certainly change your mind over the kids and their 'pop off valves'! Unfettered sidedrafts will emmanate a sound that is awsome!
