I know this is a silly question, but what is done on the 22K (or is it 23K?) tune up? I need to take my 2003 V40 in for new brakes soon and I think I am due for that tune-up too. (Funny enough, I think when I had the other set of brakes replaces, I had to get the 15K mile tune up.)

The brake light started going in and out about the same time as the service light, but I know they are seperate.

Sorry for the lame question, but I want to know what I should expect for my pocketbook when I go in to get service!

The 22,500 service is just an oil change.
The tune is is due at 30,000.

Thank you very much for the info and the very quick reply! :)

What is at the 30K, if you don't mind me asking? I am thinking of taking "the baby", (I had wanted to own a Volvo since I was a kid and was excited when I was able to buy one a few years ago), cross-country around Christmas time. Since I live in the States, (I've noticed a lot of Brits here), it would be about 2100 miles each way, which means I would be coming close to it before the tune-up.

Thanks for having such a great message board! I've learned a ton just poking around today.

The 30k = spark plugs,air filter,fuel filter,coolant flush,brake flush,oil change,and a good look over of the car.
The service usually runs about $350.00 to $400.00

Sounds like it would be worth it before a long drive.

Thanks again!

(Embarrassing first-time Volvo owner story. I had owned the car for about 4 months and had put about 3K miles on it. So I made an appoint to get the first oil change and drove it down to the service center. The guy comes out to take my car, turns the key, laughs, and says, "You now own a Volvo. You don't need an oil change for a few more thousand miles." [:o])

Thats ok most people don't know that either.

It also doesn't hurt if you do it early.
