Hi All,

While I can't testify to the longevity of 'Forever Black (FB) yet, (many reports suggest 6 months or 50 washes etc), I can say that I was so incredibly pleased with the results. My trim, windscreen surrounds, roof bars, bumpers, door handles and so on had taken on an almost white appearance. Mothers and all the other 'back to black' products did little to help.

So, after researching online and reading much good about FB, I ordered it online. What a difference!! One thing I did find, was that the all important cleaner that you use first, was if anything too diluted in the volume to water they suggsted. I actually went back and redid some partsd, maybe I have just been to liberal with the silicone products in the past few weeks, not sure.

Anyway, I just wanted to recommend this.

Hope this is useful.

Thanks for that, I was wondering what kind is best, sounds like this one will do the job. Thanks for the tip as well. Reason I'm replying is... hows it holding up?

Black magic works well.

I also heard of using Linseed Oil.

Well so farry, so goody....

I wash the car way more than I should, well probably I do. Its hard not to in salty wintry MA winters, and so far, I haven't really seen much of a deterioration, mind you, I did do multiple coats when I applied, it didn't look it needed it, but from what I read, thin but multiple were a good idea.

All in all, I've been very pleased, my previous attempts having been with Mothers etc, nice until a rain shower!

Never thought of that, if my magic wears out, I'll give it a whirl!

Oops sorry, I dont use the magic, I meant if the Forever Black was to wear, or when it wears, I could try Linseed.

The BMW club has reccommended that product for years! I can attest that it will brighten things for a long time. Be very leery of linseed oil as it will dry out and eventually degrade rubber!

Kiwi shoe dye I hear works well. There is a writeup on Volvospeed about it.

Also IPD sells a few items to dye and restore faded bumper trim.

To be honest with you I would get it painted to match the car. Looks so much better.
