Hi,

Well, I'm back at a point where I'm convincing myself, that I may not blow the car up, with the upgraded ECU, of course if anyone differs, please feel free to counter that belief :)

So, my question, the ECU from Speedtuning USA to looks to be a veritable bargain, $300 with a 'supposed' 50hp increase, much higher torque and dyno to 'prove' it.

My questions are these;

1. Anyone running this and if so, what are your experience's with power increase, which area's seem better, or, worse?
2. Anyone have a negatve experience doing this?
3. Mine is a 95 Turbo wagon, (OBDII), any issues relating to the CEL when the upgrade has been fitted?

The car seems to be in good order, trans seems to be solid and has good maintenance history, so from that perspective, I'm somewhat comforted.

Thanks in advance for any opinions offered.

I am running the ST ecu upgrade.

1999 S70 awd is my car.
Speed Tuning USA ecu upgrade 12PSI version

It runs great, it boosts just right. No dyno's to prove actual HP and ft-lb increases, but the butt dyno knows it boosted it atleast 20hp and 20 ft-lb's if not more. No CEL problems ever.

I love it. Plus if you check VS they might be running another groupbuy on them soon. Maybe not, but if they are it is even more of s teal then. $265 + $14 you can't beat that.

But at $325 without a groupbuy is a good deal too.

Oliver can be a total ass sometimes, but his tech help was good.

Hi S70,

I'll take a look at the VS site and see if a group buy is going on, although, as you say, at $325, the chip is good value when compared to others.

For the 850T the increase is rated at 50hp (225 to 275), and an increase of torque from 300nm to 400nm, thats quite incredible for a dollar versus hp ratio.

The only concern I have as I begin to grin at the thought of that increase, is any stress that could put on the trans etc.

Thanks for your advice.

Mick
