How much boost does it run out of the box? My guess is about 6 or 7? Next how much can the internals take on a routine basis? My hope is around 10 or 12. Lastly is there an affordable boost controler on the market for this app?

I would say your running the LPT engine. So saying that your running like 5-7 PSI.
On a routine basis you can run like 10-12 and be fine. Don't run more your Low Pressure Turbo's efficency range becomes a factor.
Do don't I REPEAT DO NOT use a boost controller. Also do not turn the wastegate. Buy an ECU upgrade. SpeedTuning USA does a good job and they got a 12PSI program. I am currently running it and love it.

thanks for the advice! obvi ECU was my prefered course of action in the first place but the monetary aspect of that means it will be a while... may i ask how much yours; cost?
I do plan on doing some other things first - exhaust mainly

looking at their website, the dyno graphs are IMPRESSIVE

It does look impressive, but it also looks to good to be true. A 20% to 35% increase in HP and Tq for $325.00??????????
Seems a bit sketchy to me. If their chips worked that well, I would think that they would be competing big time with Evolve which charges about $900.00 for their software package which is very similar.
Edit: Or IPD which charges almost $1,000.00.

I had like 199-210 torque and I got on the dyno 238-240 torque.

I have the SpeedTuning ECU as to a lot of VS members as well. There have been a few problems with SpeedTuning, but in the end the problems have been solved. They have three tuning programs, 12/15/17 PSI programs. And all of them cost the same, but do not run the 15 or 17 PSI programs on an LPT engine the turbo will be out of it range.
The 12 PSI program is great, I love it.

from talking with these guys i buy the numbers as well as the price. They def work in volume there for can charge less than evolve. I was shocked when i got my S60 because very few chips run as much as they do for these cars. I think generally the demand just isnt there.

i am definitely gonna go that route. I am in the process of changing jobs and a move though so cash is a bit tight. I will be doing it in the next few months that is for sure.

Did you ever get your chip? How'd you like it?
