Ihatespeedbumps 04-30-2006, 12:08 AM I believe snap on sells the correct tool to properly turn the rear calipers back in. I'm not sure of the product # unfortunately. tech 04-30-2006, 12:24 AM Most Autoparts stores sell them as well. reg 04-30-2006, 12:55 PM TECH, if the Volvo calipers that you are referring to are the 'screw in piston' type, then in the past on similar calipers I have simply used a flat piece of metal.............. Audi and Mazda used a similar caliper. R. ORIGINAL: tech Most Autoparts stores sell them as well. tech 04-30-2006, 05:49 PM They are light the GM calipers. You need to push and turn them at the same time to get them back in. reg 04-30-2006, 10:20 PM Similar to Audi. I simply took a scrap piece of flat stock and cut it to size, taped it and Voila! I was doing a brake job on a Sunday and so no auto parts store was open. I continue to use my "tool". Reg ORIGINAL: tech They are light the GM calipers. You need to push and turn them at the same time to get them back in. ekoracing 06-01-2008, 09:39 PM It's called a "C" clamp use this with the old brake pad (so not to dammage thepiston). Works every time. Snap off tools? NOT worth it. |
