I pulled the dead Turbo off of my 1990 740 and there is a plate with #s but not name on it. Everyone says it is either a Garrett or Mitsubishi but I dont know how to tell.

Well it may be stamped on the side of the turbo in the housing with raised letters what turbo it is.

The thr Plate? I have found numbers casted into it and numbers on the plate but nothing else. The only letters I saw on the Turbo was VOLVO. Thanks guys and feedback would be appreciated, I will try to post some Pictures if that would help.

Well I just got your e-mail's. It looks to me that either the plate was scraped on purpose and or over time it wore off. I cannot identify this turbo at all.

If there is a 12c it may be that or a 13g I dunno. I am guessing on this now.
