I would like ideas on replacement speakers for my 2000 V70. I am not looking for thundering bass, just quality sound you can CRANK. The factory speakers are pretty decent, but every now and then I hear some buzzing from my passenger door speaker. I was rockin out too hard evidently. All of the speakers seem to be in a plastic mounting frame. What additional work or parts may be needed to replace them?

Thanks, JMC

if you want clear bass, clear mids, and highs, i would go with a COMPONENT SPEAKERS, also referred to as SEPARATES, you will need an amp for it, the stock will not power it all that good. i have a nissan with MB quartz, components very good sound, with a phoenix gold amp. you hear every single note in the music and they can handle lots of volume and still be clear. i currently am working on my s80 to install components, a local sound shop is doing everything for me. i would also recommend dyno matting your doors to get the sound into the car and not vibrate around the doors.

the stock speakers are fine, do you have a stock radio? or did you put one in?
if you have a stock one i suggest you to get a new head unit you can put it to about 18-20 with out rattling lol
