can I just replace the spring in the wastegate with an HKS spring at my desired PSI?

I've seen people T the vaccum line at the wastegate and install a regulator to adjust boost after adjusting wastegate rod almost all the way. They use the regulator to adjust the boost.

As Tech has said;) you can just do a basic Boost Controller Install. You can either go for the mechanical kind, which is installed right into the vacuum line (sp? lol), which is a very simple install or you can go for an electronic kit which requires a little bit more work.

What PSI are you aiming for? Cause you can't just install the controller and crank out 15psi without doing other work on it first. This ain't no Fast and Furious![:'(];)

I got the turbo for a low psi kit for my car. I was looking for about 5 or 6 psi, I'm no fast and the Furious wannabe. I really wanted to keep it simple, so do you think the HKS spring will work in the wastegate.

You might be at that psi already.

5-6PSI? If you're running a stock TD05-18B from factory, you're running at ~7 psi...

What exactly is your set up? and what exactly are you trying to run for your kit?

I'm using a TD05-12B on my 2.4L Cavalier. The kit will be intercooled but since I'm not looking for mind blowing horsepower I want it set at about 5 or 6psi. I'm looking for about 200whp that doesn't require too much boost on my engine.

Do you know if the Volvo TD05 uses a standard TD05 exhaust flange, I about to order a mani but the guy who makes the turbo manifolds is in Michigan. Any info will be great.

At 7 PSI you will be fine. That is good for 200 Hp. Since I am running a 13g and stock the PSI is 5-7 PSI. and my Hp rating was 193 and torque was 210.

you will actually be over that.... what year cavi? did you swap out the stock intake mani for a H.O. unit?, with 7 psi you should be around 220 whp...check out grandamgt.com....there are a couple of guys running the 2.4 and runnin low 13's and high 12's in a grand am
