tabbing is so convenient......so much more secure

yea i use firefox too...internet explorer is too virus prone

fire fox..hands down. I don't know how my day would go on with out the acuweather tool bar and tabs. Plus i enjoy the seudo qusi futuristic Japan black background

I pulled the old man out of storage FINALLY! threw a new battery in him (it's a him because his name is Geeves...perfect name for a 240 wagon) and a full tank of gas. Started right up...not bad for sitting in storage for two years eh? For now, he's me Mountain Biking car....

Here's where it becomes an off topic discussion....

So i went to go get my plates re-newed...it was still under Georgia registration and i now live in Minnesota. The lady asked me when the car got up here and in an attept to gain some good carma i told her the truth. "Ma'am" i says, "i brought it back up with me when we moved from Georgia 2 years ago as of May 11 and it's been in storage ever since." She frowns at me and says that i should have registered it then because now i'll have to pay that year, plus this year and then in a month when this years tabs are up i'll have to re-new them AGAIN...for a total of 3 sets of tabs. I looked at her and was prepared to bust out the Vasoline....after all, i gotta have my Volvo right?...when she says...."you know, if you waited a month i can give a non use year and you'll only have to pay for two years. In fact, had you not said anything about when you got it here the state would never have know the difference...but, unfourtunatly I can't help you with that. Oh, and i noticed you lived in Farmington...Well, there's a more local DMV over there that you can try tomorow." To which i reply, "don't you mean in a month from now?" This is the best part...."no, i meen tomorow when you go in and tell them you just brought the car up from Georga last week!"

haha, thats a good one.......i had my 740 in storage for almost 3mths....nothing compared to yours but it started right up,.....i love it.......

that kinda sounds like my volvo....was sitting in my brothers garage for a little over a year which he just got a used(78) motor put in it and i replaced the brakes, than it sat for a year. charged up the battery and it fired right up. i need to come up with a name for it, prefer and female name, but will take any suggestions. its a 79 244dl and a tu-tone tan. the reason for the tu-tone is some TRIED to do rust repair work on it and the part they did that and repainted was the wrong sahde of tan, and the rust is coming back. so if anyone is interesting in helping out a new volvo lover with some bodywork and other various mechanical work, LET ME KNOW. haha.

oh, and i wanted to say...i use IE at work and both firfox and netscape at home. i need to update here at work and get firfox. but first i gotta talk to the boss.

I still have IE on my computer, but only because i haven't felt like taking the time to use Nlite to slipstream it out of my WinXP disk

IE kept crashing time after time after time yesterday, son had used firefox for an online class he was taking. I thought HMMM let's give it a try ( I already used it at work) and guess what, NOOOO more crashes the rest of the day. Bye Bye IE, Heeellloooo firefox.

I use a combination of Mozilla, Safari and Opera.

Don't really like FF's UI.

IE isn't even worth using, except for sites which wont work with anything else.

Every computer (with win XP) i've tried to delete IE out of ends up getting pissy. Curious

It's so hardwired into the OS it's not possible really. MS has gotten into trouble for the same thing with Media player so lets hope they have to remove IE dependance.

i was able to remove IE in the copy of XP i'm running and i love it, the only problem is that you're screwed when you try to go to a site that REQUIRES IE

What you really want to do is get rid of the whole stinking pile that is Windows.

i got pretty close to it...i couldn't have Linux as my primary OS though...too many little problems...

I use OSX on the desktop and linux as remote machines/servers.

nothing is 100%.....apple is not compatible enough with all the windows in the world....AHHH

I like Safari it beats all! Think of it as the Volvo S60R of browsers and the Mac as the Volvo S80 :)
