I just recently bought an 06 S40 T5 FWD. After looking around volvo mod websites i saw this Performance Software (http://www.evolvecars.com/site/index.php?id=220,249,0,0,1,0) upgrade. Does anyone know if this is actually a way to increase performance? Or is it a load of crap? It seems like if that were real, volvo would have just tuned their computers that way back in the factory.

I don't know many people who have the Evolve software. To be honest I wouldn't get anything from Evole. Just my opinion.

Their provided gains are an approximate number, you may see these numbers you may not.

However ECU upgrades do work. If that helps you in your quest for information.

Why didn't Volvo do this in the factory? Probably because they are a saftey oriented car manufactuer.

I have a 99 s70 awd and am using a SpeedTuning USA ecu upgrade, works great. I love it.
