I have been doing some research on the GM "Vortec" 350 Marine engines, I am mainly interested in information on the the intake manifold / Fuel Injection. I have been told that the manifold (which will be pictured at the bottom) came on Volvo Penta GXI's as well as other boats but no one can tall me what years of Penta or what other boats it came on. If someone can tell me what years and models these manifolds came on that would be great, I have come across a few of these setups used and every last piece of them are always painted red does anyone know why ?

I think all of the Volvo Penta Marine engines are red. This is to distinguish between the Mercury Marine engines that are black or blue. Chevy makes the engines for both. Each adds their own EFI systems, cooling etc. Check with
