Hi,
I have a s80 2.9 non turbo,
100 K miles,

Recently i've had some flakey problems.
1. I had a traction/brake check light on. It has stopped completely for 2 months. I chedked the ABS system in snow ( in a parking lot). It works. The dealer had originally said I should replace the ABS system for over $1500!!

2. THe emmisions message appears now, along with a check engine light,

The dealer did nothing more than plug into the OBD outlet and tell me things are wrong
1. ECM 262A, Long Term fuel Trim, lower limt , Area 28 Long TErm fuel trim bank 1 low, Logge
2. ECM 272 A, Adaptive lamda control, Bank2 bottom, Adaptive Lambd control Bank 2 Low, logged

THe OBD has also spit out messages claiming
1. I have a bad 10 disck changer ( i do not have a changer in the car)
2. I am missing my fuel cap ( it is very securely attached to the car)

Right now i do not trust this OBD system, and it irks me that the dealer simply wants to follow what the OBD tells them to do, Any suggestions.

The 262A and 272A codes usaully mean and air leak but there is a list of componants that have to be checked before a diagenosis can be made.
As far as the ABS the module is probably still bad and will need to be replaced or rebuilt sometime,

This site rebuilds the ABS modules.
