I have an s40 t5 (6spd man.) and its got more torque than it can grip, specifically when you are launching.

Ive done lots of research. I have decided I want Goodyear's Eagle F1 GS-D3. But, what is holding me back is my stock tire size: 205/50-17 (i have the sagitta 17"x7" sport rims which i think look stunning). Will these new tires make a big enough of a difference compared to my stock "sport" tires? Im thinking that the only way to really feel a difference at this point is to buy new wider rims along with the tires...but thats a lot of money that i dont have.

So the question is: is it worth upgrading my tires on my stock rims?

Which tires do you have on there now.I have heard a lot of bad things about good year tires.I also drive and surf on mustang forums.Alot of mustang drivers us Kuhmo tires fairly cheap and have good traction and hold up pretty good.

Michelin Pilot HX MXM4
205/50-17

That must be a new tire for the 04 1/2 and up they never used that size before.I know the michelin pilots as tire size 225/45/17 they were pretty awesome tires.Like I said in my last post the kuhmo tires are pretty good.They are less than $100.00 a peice I think.

i was looking around and a few guys said I can probably fit 215/40-17 tires on my stock rims.

any thoughts?

Honestly the best thing to do would find the width of your rim and call a tire place and ask them the same quiestion.They work with tires all day long and can give you a fast and safe answer.I have done that in the past to find out info.
