Greetings Eveyone, I'm sure you all know that I'm new. Is there anything unusual about changing the front disk pads on an S60 ? special tools ? I've done many brake jobs before just not on a Volvo ..What are the weak points on an S60 ? Thanks for any help.

You will need a I believe it is a 6mm allen wrench, pair of pliers and a screw driver. There are plastic covers hiding the 2 caliper screws.Loosen the 2 screws remove the spring on the front of the caliper.Becareful the spring like to hit people.Remove the caliper and compress slowly.Install new pads and caliper. The brakes might feel funny when you are done the pedal might seem to fade to the floor when holding steady. The way to fix that is to take it on a road with no cars and hit the brakes hard and activate the abs then it will be back to normal.Bye the way you are just replacing the pads only?Volvo doesn't advise having the rotors cut/turned.It will cause vibration and warp fast.
