I own a 2000 Volvo S80 and need help with (3) problems:

(1) How can I re-set that SERVICE ENGINE reminder light that comes on every 7,000 miles and stays on for 2 minutes every time I start the car? I change my own oil and don't want to pay some dealership to re-set my light all the time.

(2) I used the car all day today with no problems. Just not I started it up and my SRS warning light came on and it says "Service Immediately". The fuses are all itact and the local service center said there is no danger. He said I must have some debris in my seatbelt latches or they are not fully clicked. I've checked everything and the light is still on? Of course, the Volvo dealership won't give me any advice, l they just want the car brought in $$$.

(3) Finally, every once in a while I get a "Low Oil Pressure" warning light when I come to a stop, then it goes off? I read that I might need new "O" Rings on the oil pump? The dealership is trying to get me to go for a $1,000.00 job to replace the "O" Rings, but another service place that I trust said that I just need a heavier weight oil?

1 Do a search on this forum and you can find out how to reset the service light.

2 The SRS could be a dirty seat belt buckle.It could be about 50 other things as well.You need to find someone that can pull codes from the SRS system and take it from there.

3 Have you checked the oil level first to make sure it is properly filled? The o-rings are the oil pan o-rings not the oil pump o-rings.The o-rings crack or fall apart adding heavier oil will do nothing more than cause more damage to the engine.The oil will take longer to get the oil to the top of the engine.
