Hello!
I have Volvo s80 99 with about 115K miles on it.
I have multiple lights on the dash board comming some-time up-to 5 computer messages at time:
check ABS, check emission, check transmission, STS problem, Break Failure-Stop Immediately.
But it looks like just computer issues, because my car serviced on regular basis. After rebooting the computer, lights come up in a few weeks again.
Sometime I just have transmission service required only. I have airbag service required on message permanently, but at the dealership they told me, that everything O'K.
If it is central computer block problem? How much this kind of fix can cost? Pls., advise me!
Best Regards.

Sounds like you may have a couple of problems. The computer work on a network if one computer goes bad it will mess with some others sometimes. You might want to start with the ABS module. You can have it rebuilt to save some money and see what happens from there.
http://home.earthlink.net/~vicrocha/Volvo_Parts/Volvo_V70_ABS.htm
that link will take you to a site that rebuilds them.

Thank you.
Just in addition. Everytime, when I have break failure message my trip counter is just show me "-----" My overall trip counter just stucked at the same value (I save miledge on my car this way ;). Some time my odometer just stucked at "0".

When one of the computers go bad it can have the potential to shut half the car down.

Tech, As I mentioned before. What has happened to Aneduva has happened to me. It sounds like we have the same identical problem. So is this computer problem easy to fix? Do I go to the afore mentioned web site & mail the my computer? Am I suposed to get someone to take it out? Do I get the new one & take it to Centenial Imports & let them put it in?

By the way, What is a VADIS CD?

Thanks again, Beth

Yes you would have to have someone take the ABS module out and send it to them and have them rebuild it and send it back.I read on your other post that the battery had been drained out which could also cause a problem like that.Make sure there are no codes in any system. Then if the problem persists then you can go with the ABS module rebuild. It may not be the exact fix that is just what I have seen in the past.

Sorry I also forgot to touch on the Vadis quiestion.Vadis is the program that Volvo uses for Diag. and repairing the cars. You need the vadis program to comunicate with the car to make repairs.
