2005 S80 - Can the amp be seen without taking the seat out?
Hi,
I have a question and maybe someone here can answer it.
I have a 2005 S80. I am not sure which one of the two sound systems it has in it (the one with the amp under the passenger seat or not). I looked under the seat and I don't see anything but a hump of carpet. Do you have to take the seat out to physically see the amp?
The reason that I ask is this:
I am looking to put an amp and sub in the trunk of it and I do not want to do any wire splices. I was going to get this: AiH-VOL Aftermarket Amplifier Installation harness for Volvo :: Amplifiers & Audio Integration
Now, they say they have 2 kinds (one if you have an amp which is kind of like a Y cable, and one if you don't have an amp. Which is the one that the link goes to). I could probably get the Y one and it would work either way, but I was hoping I could do a quick visual inspection and see if the amp was under the seat, or if I have a model that does not include an amp. Like I said, I gave a quick look underneath it and I didn't see anything but a carpet hump.
Any information would be greatly appreciated (Yes, I know that I could take the HU out and look and see if the DIN cable is plugged in or not, but I was hoping to only have to take the unit out once since I have heard that it can be a little bit of a pain in the butt to get out).
Any insight? Do all of the stereos that come in this model have a DIN out jack or only some (Mine doesn't have the CD changer option on it)?
Thanks in Advance.

Okay, so now I have another question. I found a website that has a good deal on OEM Volvo stereos for my model year. I remember reading somewhere (or think that I did) that if you change a stereo out with another OEM stereo that you have to have it "married" or "paired" with the car. Is this true? Is it something that has to be done at the dealership or is there a way we can do it at home. I am asking this because I found a OEM with the CD changer control for a good deal and that way I could pop in the bluetooth/aux aftermarket kit. Anyone have any experience with this? FYI - My current OEM does NOT have CD changer control. I thought that I read somewhere that it will give an error if they are not paired.
