Thanks!
It's a base model with 4 speed auto in ice white with dark grey leather interior. The whole car was VERY clean but I still wanted to go that extra step. I had a leather specialist touch up a few nicks on the seat backs and then respray the interior and it looks like it was made yesterday! I got Bobby's Auto Body across from Adria to repaint the rear bumper (and replace the bumper brackets)as it had some wear.
Since then I've just been adding. steel cargo barrier, retractable cargo net, cargo mat and cover, euro and cross rails, rear armrest with integrated booster, rear spoiler, homelink visor and probably a few more. Next up is a front upper sway bar, the ipd ipod jack, front fog lights, tint and I then I think I'll take a rest. I've only had it 5 months and I need a break, lol.
I have actually been keeping a little log of what I have done, maybe I'll post it when I'm done the next few things. I completely failed to take enough before pics though. I have made that mistake with 2 project cars now.
How about yours? Did the drive to BC go well?

Hamilton Ontario
Just chiming in. Been a member for a while but never really posted.
As family we owned 4 volvos 240 DL, 2 850 - Best cars ever, and an S60.
For those in GTA if you need really good mechanics, independant and Volvo only, there is on in Toronto, on Bloor street, one in Hamilton.
There is one in Guefph as well bur I've never used them. I don't check in here but I will try. Oh and for those who have been having issues with ABS on 850, the fix is really easy if you need it done. I have now done 6 pcs.
Let me know,
Cheers

Most of the work I did on the car was mechnical - things that we're starting to wear out nearing 200,000 km. I also bought a set of T5 rims, tinted the car with a faded tint that gets darker towards the rear. Replaced the rubber trim, lights with HID and thats about it so far.
Trip to British Columbia was excellent! Car didn't skip a beat, and has been running great out here. I think the MAF might be starting to die, or the throttle body needs a good clean because she's been acting a little strange as of late.

Dear toha-70:
Here in Ottawa one great mechanic is Peter Huszcz of Mobile Mechanics I have had him do work he has the tools and the know how. Peter can be reached at phone 613 795 3657 and email at phuszcz@rogers.com I had Peter do a safety and and work that I did not have the tools at the time to do the work. He is such a nice person to deal with and tells you what he is doing and always gives you options and advises you what he thinks is best. The good part about Peter he comes to your place with a fully equipped truck - a mobile garage and get you going in the minimal amount of time, but with out the premium price of a upscale garage, with the fancy waiting areas.
Best of luck
Keith

Volvo Timing belt help needed
I have a Volvo V40 2002 I got the timing belt changed after 140000 kms. But I purchased aftermarket and a non volvo mechanic fitted it. Since then I get generic code P0015 error. description piston retard and Volvo uses more gas. Advancing one slot on belt did resolve the problem but new error code I get is P0017.
Is the aftermarket Timing belt different from Original Volvo Belt? I purchaed from NAPA

I had the timing belt/water pump etc all done on my V70, but I know they used all 'OEM' parts from Volvo, or whatever company manufactured particular parts for Volvo.

Hi! I am near Burnhamthorpe and Mavis in Mississsauga Ontario.
I have persistant P0015 if it posible to get rid of that if I use OEM to replace timing belt?
I have this error code P0015 for a month now after changing timing belt and Tensioner that I purchsed from NAPA.(may be Motorcraft). What is diffference between this and OEM timing belt any idea?
Thanks

Toronto here, Weston area more specifically, "in the village"
98 v70 non turbo, 5 speed. The car was built in Belgium and was imported from Belgium by the previous owner, who only sold it because his wife had twins, so they up to 4 kids.
Everything, including the speedo is metric, which makes it challenging when I drive stateside.
Is there a difference between Volvos made in Belgium and those I presume are built in Sweden?
