Ignition Lights not coming on Volvo 940
Hi all - new to this forum and this game in totto to be honest. I have a wonderful 940 estate G Reg in the UK. The problem is that over the past month or so it died on me while out and as soon as I jump started it - it worked fine. Sometimes when the key is turned to start the ignition lights don't come on but it still starts.
I have now replaced the Alternator and the battery is receiving a full 14 volts. I have replaced the battery with a brand new 60amp hour battery which is the one recommended - seemed a bit small but it was the one the supplier said was listed for this car.
Although the car starts fine and revs and idles smoothly - when the key is turned on - the ignition lights don't come on. But they have done in the past. I am now, not sure whether I have cured the problem or not.
Any suggestions or suggested tests would be greatly appreciated.
Happy Volvoing......

Ignition Lights not on - Progress
Dear All - I did realise that I put this thread in the wrong location - sorry but don't know how I can move it out of here now.
Anyway, I have made some progress - I think I have sorted my problem and learnt something of my new- to me - Volvo 940.
I had replaced the Alternator and still had some issues - so I replaced the battery with a new one. The Ignition Lights still did not come on when the key was turned to on but the car5 started ok. So I charged the new battery over-night and sure enough - the Ignition Lights came on and all started and performed as it should.
I think that if the voltage drops a bit the lights don't come on but the car starts and drives perfectly well. All the other symptoms have gone and I am a happy teddy...... again. Love this car
