Default Buying a 2005 S40R

Car has 160k miles on it. There are a couple of issues with it to start off with. It's a 6 speed and it's stuck on 2nd gear, shifter just rolls around like a stick in a mason jar. Other issue is lights flicker on and off. Body is in excellent condition. Are there any other things that are common issues with these cars that I should check out?

sounds like the shifter linkage, not a major fix. which lights flicker on off? that sounds like a loose connector or a relay may be wonky. If its the low beam headlights, could be the CEM.

Everything has been fixed....it was the clutch cable, it had snapped. For the lights, the alternator belt came loose. I've driven about 200 miles so far on a road trip and no issues. Rides very smooth. Mechanic checked everything over and says it will need a motor mount soon so I had him order it and should have that replaced next week.
