Question Can't Find Replacement Ballast Resistor for 1975 Volvo 164 - Any Suggestions?

Any suggestions on where we might find this part would be greatly appreciated! Have come up empty with online searches and local shops. Thanks!

Looks like the part numbers were either 241612 (early) or 462765 (late), but both are NLS. I do not know what a universal one form the auto parts store would not work - only purpose of the ballast is to reduce the voltage down to 6-7 volts (from what I remember) to make the points last longer

Default Thanks Very Much!

I neglected to include the part #s he gave me: 126014 was one number, and Bosch #0227900002 was another.

He did wonder if a universal one would work. It's an inexpensive part, so even if it didn't work, I think it's worth a try.

Thanks again

Not sure if my reply posted, so will just say another quick thank you here. My guess is he'll give the universal part a try
